The short version
Aquero does not sell your data. Ever. No accounts. No analytics. No advertising. No tracking. No cloud sync. No servers Aquero runs of its own. Everything the app does happens entirely on your device, and we collect nothing about you.
If you ever wonder whether some piece of information you put into Aquero leaves your phone, it doesn’t.
A note about this website
The policy below describes the Aquero app on your phone. The website you are reading right now (aquero.app) is a separate surface. It is hosted on Cloudflare and serves static pages. We do not run analytics on the website, do not set tracking cookies, and do not embed third-party scripts that profile you. Cloudflare, as the host, processes ordinary HTTPS request data (such as IP address) to serve the page and protect the site from abuse. That processing follows Cloudflare’s own privacy practices.
What the app does
Aquero is a pilgrim companion app for Our Lady of Lourdes, drawing on the spirituality of the grotto at Massabielle and the example of Saint Bernadette. It contains:
- Prayers, devotions, the rosary, two novenas, and the Way of the Cross at Lourdes
- A daily Marian quote
- The story of St. Bernadette and the eighteen apparitions
- Information about the recognized cures at Lourdes
- A small photo gallery
- Optional local notifications (a daily prayer reminder and feast-day novena reminders)
- A few outbound links: the support page, the official Sanctuaire de Lourdes website
What we collect about you
Nothing. No name, no email, no phone number, no location, no device identifier, no usage data, no error logs, no IP address. We don’t know who you are, where you are, or what you do in the app.
What’s stored on your device
Aquero stores a small amount of state on your phone, locally, never leaving the device:
- Your novena progress (which day you’re on, when you started)
- Your reading position in the Way of the Cross (kept for one hour, then cleared)
- Your theme preference (light / dark / system)
- Your notification settings (whether enabled, what time)
This data lives in your device’s local app storage. It is not synced to any server, not backed up to any cloud (other than your own iCloud/Google device backup if you have one enabled, which is yours and outside our reach), and not transmitted anywhere. If you uninstall Aquero, this data is removed by your operating system.
Notifications
If you enable notifications in Settings, your phone schedules them locally. Aquero does not have a notification server. The notifications are scheduled by your device’s operating system. We never see whether they fire, whether you tap them, or anything else about them.
External links
A few buttons in Aquero open external websites in your phone’s browser:
- Support this work opens Stripe (donate.stripe.com) so you can make a one-time gift. Stripe processes the transaction and follows its own privacy policy. Aquero never sees your card information, your name, or your gift amount.
- Visit the official Sanctuaire de Lourdes opens lourdes-france.org, which is operated by the Sanctuary at Lourdes (not by Aquero) and follows their own privacy policy.
- Source citations in some screens may link to other Catholic websites that have their own privacy policies.
When you tap one of these links and leave Aquero, you’re on someone else’s website, and what they do with information you give them is governed by their policy, not ours.
Children
Aquero contains nothing collected from anyone, including children. The content is appropriate for all ages.
Gifts are not tax-deductible
Aquero is published by Harnisch LLC, which is not a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Gifts made via the in-app Stripe link support the work but are not tax-deductible.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change what Aquero does or what it stores, we’ll update this policy and date the revision at the top. Since the app stores nothing about you and never communicates with any server, the only way that would change is if we add a real new feature that requires it (for example: an opt-in email newsletter, or cloud sync of your novena progress). Any such change would also be announced in the app itself before it took effect.
